Break out those cookie sheets and start baking some cookies…bring your homemade cookies (or store-bought) over to Allison James’ house Saturday morning at 9:30 and we are going to split the goodies into two baskets to deliver to two Irving Fire Stations (#1 and #9). We will be leaving promptly at 9:45 to make our deliveries. See you Saturday!

The Road is adopting two Irving Fire Stations, Station 1 and Station 9, and will be finding ways to serve them periodically. This coming Saturday, we will be delivering homemade cookies to them. We are asking that you bake a batch of cookies and split them equally into two separate baggies. If you don’t bake, bring some store-bought cookies to contribute.

Meet us Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. at Allison James’ house, on the west side of S. Main St between 5th and 6th Streets, next to the parking lot and next to Preston’s Automotive Upholstery.

We will combine all the cookies into baskets and we will head out promptly at 9:45 to make our deliveries.

REMINDER!!! Respectable Sins Bible Study Thursday night at 7 pm at Emily Ward’s – 941 Columbus Ct., Bedford, TX 76022. We will be discussing Lesson 3 over chapters 7 and 10 – Ungodliness and Unthankfulness.

Respectable Sins bible study on Thursday nights at Emily Ward’s house (941 Columbus Ct, Bedford, TX 76022). We’ll start at 7:00, but come early with a brown bag dinner if you want to hang out and talk. There will be some kind of dessert provided each Thursday night.

If you haven’t gotten your book and study guide, don’t let that stop you from coming, but it would be good to have it. We’ve already completed lesson one. The following is an outline of the rest of the study.

July 7 – Lesson 2 “Facing Up to the Truth”

July 14 – Lesson 3 “Ungodliness and Unthankfulness”

July 21 – Lesson 4 “Anxiety, Frustration and Discontentment”

July 28 – Lesson 5 “Pride and Selfishness”

August 4 – Lesson 6 “Impatience, Irritability and Anger”

August 11 – Lesson 7 “Judgmentalism and Sins of the Tongue

August 18 – Lesson 8 “Lack of Self-Control, Envy and Jealousy”

Just a reminder that provided it’s not raining, we are planning to have lunch at Victoria Park tomorrow after ABF. There are tables, so bring your lunch, frisbee, ball, bat, kite, etc and come hang out.

Directions: North on Belt Line; Right on Northgate; Through the stopsign at Pleasant Run Rd. and its on your Left next to a school.

May 30 @ 5 pm – Memorial Day Cookout at Sarah Vick’s house. We’ll have someone there to man the grill, so bring your own meat to throw on the grill and something to share with everyone else.

June 10 – we will be meeting in the church parking lot that evening and heading down to Ennis to the Drive-in movies. Exact meeting time and movies will be determined closer to the date.

June 19 @ 1 pm – Brown Bag Lunch – following ABF we will have lunch in another Irving park (location TBD) weather permitting.

June 25 – Celebrate Freedom at South Fork Ranch – an evite will be going out soon to get a count so we can get tickets. Tickets are free but are needed to get in. For information or to find out which artists / bands are playing, check out

The Road has been asked to partner with the Encore ABF to help collect items for some families in a low income area of Alabama that lost everything in the tornadoes last week.  Below is a list of items that we’ll be collecting this Sunday to send to these families.  These are just a couple of the families who’s needs were sent to us.  It would be great if we could get some clothes for each of the families and hygiene products.  We could also send some gift cards for Wal-mart, Sam’s, or Visa gift cards.  Thanks for your help with this project, it is a great way for us to serve those in Alabama!  And, it’s a great way for the Road and Encore ABF’s to come together!

* This Saturday morning (April 30th), the Road will be joining with other members of First Irving to serVe our community by picking up trash. Meet at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot across from the front of the church.

* Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. join us at Tim and Susie Corbett’s house for dinner and fellowship. Their address is 2523 Salida, Irving, 75062 and is located just behind Irving Mall.
